The verified science and in-depth
research broken down to learn why and
how Brillia Health products works.

We are so glad that you have discovered Brillia Health! We are very excited to introduce you to our two new products, Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control. By the time you are done reading, you will have a well-rounded and clear understanding of why Brillia Health works, how these products work, and what makes them safe and impactful alternatives to both over-the-counter and prescription anti-cough and anti-viral medication, most of which are associated with harmful side effects.

We will even walk you through some of the clinical studies that have been done testing both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control’s efficacy and side effects (or lack thereof), in addition to a comparison of both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control’s efficacy and safety to the current industry standard anti-viral and anti-cough prescription medications.

Here at Brillia, we recognize the importance of fully understanding every aspect of a medication, including its mechanism of action, potential side effects, and optimal usage practices before even thinking about introducing it to our bodies. That’s why we developed this easy to understand document, so everyone has the opportunity to educate themselves on our products to feel good about using them. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via call or email, as we are here to help.

Both Brillia Health products are homeopathic, over-the-counter medications with unique and effective anti-viral and anti-cough properties, with results comparable to and sometimes even better than prescription drugs commonly used for these illnesses, all with absolutely zero harmful side effects. Brillia Health products are the product of a unique synergy between antibody science and homeopathic formulation. What does this mean for us? It means that our products have the efficacy associated with a scientifically formulated drugs without harmful side effects.

Now that we have an idea of what Brillia Health products are, let’s talk about what makes them so very special, specifically compared to prescription medications, the current industry standard anti-viral and anti-cough medications.

As we mentioned before, both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control are products of antibody science and homeopathic formulation working hand-in-hand to create medications with the safety associated with homeopathy and the efficacy of active ingredients formulated using science-based methodologies. As a result, our Brillia Health products work just as well, if not better than Rx medications for the flu — helping your body fight off viral infections (and Rx Codeine) reducing both the severity and duration of your illness — without all the harmful side effects associated with their prescription counterparts. What makes our Brillia Health products even better? Both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control are over-the-counter and do not require a doctor’s visit and prescription to get them.

You may be wondering, “What are all these harmful side effects you have been mentioning, associated with prescription medications for the flu?” This prescription medication has been associated with vomiting, insomnia, nausea, serious mental/mood changes as well as causing death.

And what about those associated with Codeine? Just to name a few, Codeine has been associated with severe drowsiness, vomiting, constipation, decreased breathing and addiction.

Now let’s talk about the harmful side effects associated with our Brillia Health products. Oh wait, there are none!

Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves with what makes Brillia Health Products so special, let’s take a moment to discuss what gives Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control their incredible efficacy and lack of any harmful side effects — their active ingredients.

Each Brillia Health product contains three active ingredients, all of which are antibodies targeting a different molecule that are involved when we get either a cough or cold/flu. For Cold-Flu Recovery, the active ingredients are registered with the FDA as Lapine Histamine immune globulin, Lapine CD4 immune globulin and Lapine Gamma Interferon immune globulin. For Cough Control, the active ingredients are registered with the FDA as Lapine Histamine immune globulin, Lapine Bradykinin immune globulin and Lapine Morphine immune globulin. Now we know these names can be intimidating, so we are going to break it down for you. Working backwards, “immune globulin” is just the “sciency” way of saying “antibody”, and don’t worry, we will explain what an antibody actually is in just a second. Next, “Histamine, Bradykinin, Morphine, CD4 and Gamma Interferon” are the names of the molecules the antibody is designed to recognize in the body. Lastly, “Lapine” is just a descriptor of the origin of the antibody, just like the millions of other antibodies used each and every day in laboratories all across the world.

Antibodies are naturally occurring proteins and components of our immune system that are individually programmed to target very specific molecules. In the case of Cold-Flu Recovery these are Histamine, CD4 and Gamma Interferon. And in the case of Cough Control these are Histamine, Bradykinin and Morphine. It is important to understand that antibodies are one of the most specific and targeted molecules in our bodies, resulting in zero off-target effects — meaning that antibodies specifically look for and attach to their target only. This is why both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control do not dampen your overall system (by making you drowsy, groggy or jittery) and have no harmful side effects. These active ingredients only interact with the three molecules the antibodies are designed to target. Not only do Brillia Health products have absolutely zero side effects, they also have no contraindications with any other medications or supplements you may be taking. This is due to their extremely high level of target specificity, meaning that Brillia Health products only look for and bind with their target, and will not affect anything else in the body, any other systems, or any other drugs or supplements that you may be taking. Additionally, it’s important to note that antibody binding can have various effects depending on the specific target molecule. In some cases, antibody binding can prevent the target molecule from doing its job (in the case of the Lapine Histamine immune globulin). In contrast, antibody binding can also have a synergistic/positive effect, allowing the molecule to perform its job better than it could without the antibody bound (in the case of the Lapine CD4 immune globulin and the Lapine Gamma Interferon immune globulin).

Now that we know more about the active ingredients, let’s talk about their targets, Histamine, Bradykinin, Morphine, CD4 and Gamma Interferon.

In the case of a cough, Histamines are the culprit of many of the symptoms we all despise, such as sore and itchy throat, a wet cough and fluid buildup in our lungs. This causes us to cough and can even lead to secondary infection. It’s important to note that not only do these symptoms make our quality of life worse, they also make it harder for our body to fight off the cause of the cough itself. Now that you know what histamines do, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say you aren’t a fan of them. Neither are we, and that is exactly why we developed the first active ingredient of both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control, Lapine Histamine immune globulin, to target these histamines and stop them from causing all these dreaded symptoms, by reducing the histamine response in the body.

Bradykinin has been characterized as a protussive mediator. Let’s break down the word protussive to understand its meaning. The prefix of the word, pro- means that it is a promoter. The root of the word, -tussive, relates to cough. If we put these two components together, we get the meaning, cough promoter! More specifically, bradykinin has been shown to be a promoter of inflammation in the respiratory tract which eventually will result in the development of a cough. This is why we decided to develop the second active ingredient in Cough Control, the Lapine Bradykinin immune globulin, an antibody that would bind to bradykinin and stop it from promoting cough!

While most would think of morphine as a painkiller often prescribed to those in really bad pain, the morphine found in our bodies does the exact opposite. Morphine and morphine receptors in our bodies are actually responsible for sending pain signals to our brain. One of the unpleasant aspects of having a cough is the pain that comes with it, which is the result of morphine signaling to our brain for us to feel pain! This is why we developed the third and final active ingredient in Cough Control, the Lapine Morphine immune globulin, which binds to morphine and prevents it from sending pain signals to our brain, leading to reduced pain from the cough or sore throat, and less stress on your system, allowing your body to fight off the cause of the cough more efficiently and quickly.

CD4 is a very common marker of an immune cell, the cells that we all count on to fight off viruses. When our body comes in contact with a virus, the number of these cells increases in order to combat the virus as quickly and efficiently as possible. We think it’s pretty intuitive that the more efficiently our immune cells work, the faster our bodies will defeat the virus and we can recover. This is why we developed the second active ingredient of Cold-Flu Recovery, Lapine CD4 immune globulin, to bind to these CD4 immune cells and increase their effectiveness against the virus.

Gamma interferon is an extremely important part of the immune system which gets activated following a viral infection. Gamma interferon is responsible for telling a bunch of other types of immune cells to go and attack the virus. The more gamma interferon activation our body has, the quicker and more efficiently our bodies can fight off the virus. As a result, we developed the third active ingredient of Cold-Flu Recovery, Lapine Gamma Interferon immune globulin, to bind to gamma interferon and activate it to its highest potential, allowing it to mount the strongest attack it can against the virus.

As we mentioned, Cold-Flu Recovery’s active ingredients are antibodies designed to target Histamines, CD4 and Gamma interferon, which are all a part of the immune system. When these antibodies bind to these three molecules, histamines stop causing symptoms such as sinus congestion, cough and sore throat, stuffy nose, CD4 cells get activated, allowing them to fight off the virus more effectively and lastly, Gamma interferon tells even more cells to go fight off the virus. In the end, the combination of these three active ingredients stop the symptoms we all hate while also supporting the body’s natural ability to fight off the virus as efficiently and quickly as possible. Consequently, Brillia Health Cold-Flu recovery not only reduces the severity of the symptoms but also shortens the duration of your cold/flu illness. And unlike hundreds of OTC medications you see in the isle of the drugstore, Brillia Health Cold/Flu Recovery does not cause drowsiness, grogginess or jitteriness and does not have all the chemicals that dampen your entire system to leave you unproductive and drained.

As we mentioned, Cough Control’s active ingredients are antibodies designed to target Histamines, Bradykinin and Morphine, which all play a role in the development of a cough. When these antibodies bind to these three molecules, histamines stop causing inflammation, congestion and fluid buildup in the lungs. Bradykinin stops promoting cough (is anti-tussive). And morphine is prevented from sending pain signals to our brain. Ultimately, the effects of these three antibodies lead to a reduction in both the severity and frequency of cough, positively affecting our quality of life. Not only does Cough Control reduce a wet or dry cough, it alleviates the stress normally put on the body by a cough, allowing the body to fight off the cause of the cough more effectively and quickly. And unlike hundreds of OTC medications you see in the isle of the drugstore, Brillia Health Cough Control does not cause drowsiness, grogginess or jitteriness and does not have all the chemicals that dampen your entire system to leave you unproductive and drained.

It is important to note that the binding between the antibody and the target molecules is transient, meaning it doesn’t last forever. Although antibodies bind very tightly to their target molecule, they will eventually fall off. What does this mean for us? It means that Brillia Health products do not leave a permanent footprint in the system and do not have the awful side effects many prescription. Considering the fact that the binding between Brillia Health products and their target molecules is transient, we hope you realize the importance of taking them both on time and regularly, as their efficacy depends on having a stable level of active antibodies in the system at all times.

Now that you understand how Cold-Flu Recovery works, I am going to prove to you that it does work. Clinical studies are often extremely complicated to read, let alone understand. That is why we took it upon ourselves to do all the hard work for you and hand-pick the most important parts of some of the clinical studies that have been done on both Cold-Flu Recovery and Cough Control’s efficacy.

Before we get into any data, I want to describe a key component of this clinical trial in particular. There are two groups in this clinical trial, an experimental group and a control group. In this case, the control group is given the most prescribed anti-viral medication for the flu (referred to from here on as Rx), in order to compare its efficacy to Cold-Flu Recovery’s. The only difference between those assigned to a control/Rx group or an experimental group is the administration of the product you are testing, in this case Cold-Flu Recovery. Those in the experimental group were dosed with Cold-Flu Recovery while those in the control group were given Rx.

Here we have a graph taken directly from the results section of a clinical trial testing Cold-Flu Recovery’s efficacy. This graph is showing the percentage of individuals in each group who have reached a normal body temperature (y-axis), as opposed to having a fever. The higher the percentage, the more people no longer have a fever. The x-axis tells us how many days it has been since the people in each group began taking either Cold-Flu Recovery or Rx. Shown by the orange bars, those in the Cold-Flu Recovery group recovered from their fever much faster than those in the Rx group (purple bars). For example, on day 2, about 20% of the individuals in the Cold-Flu Recovery group had already recovered from their fever while only about 10% of the individuals in the Rx group had done the same. This graph shows us that Cold-Flu Recovery is not only comparable to Rx, but works even better.

It is also important to note that by the end of the entire clinical trial, two individuals in the Rx group developed a secondary infection which needed to be treated with antibiotics, while not even a single individual in the Cold-Flu Recovery group developed a secondary infection.

There are two groups in this clinical trial, an experimental group and a control. In this case, the control group is given Codeine in order to compare its efficacy to Cough Control’s. The only difference between those assigned to a control/Codeine group or an experimental group is the administration of the product you are testing, in this case Cough Control. Those in the experimental group were dosed with Cough Control while those in the control group were given Codeine.

Here we have a graph taken directly from the results section of a clinical trial testing Cough Control’s efficacy. This graph shows the change in the average number of coughs per individual between the two groups, those taking Cough Control and those taking Codeine. The y-axis depicts the change in the number of coughs per individual from the beginning of the study to the end. More specifically, those taking Cough Control showed a decrease of 10.7 coughs, on average, by the end of the study while those in the Codeine group only showed a reduction of 8.4 coughs, on average, by the end of the study. This graph shows us that Cough Control is not only comparable to Codeine, but works even better.

The safety of the active ingredient is tested by analyzing the number of “adverse events” that occur between the experimental and control group throughout the course of a clinical trial. Adverse events are considered any changes to the health of the individual, such as cold symptoms, an allergic reaction, redness, etc., during the course of the trial. In order to determine if the adverse events were due to the administration of the active ingredient, the number and type of adverse events between the experimental and control groups are compared. Unless the experimental group (taking Cold-Flu Recovery or Cough Control) had significantly more adverse events, the active ingredient is considered just as safe as an individual that wasn’t administered the active ingredient at all, such as those in the control group (not taking neither Cold-Flu Recovery nor Cough Control).

Here we have a table demonstrating the number of adverse events that occurred throughout the course of the Cold-Flu Recovery trial. The table is split into two groups, adverse events that occurred to those in the experimental group (taking Cold-Flu Recovery) and those in the control/Rx group (not taking Cold-Flu Recovery).

In total, there were 11 adverse events in the Cold-Flu Recovery group and 15 in the control/Rx group. After sufficient statistical analysis, there is no significant difference between the number of adverse effects between the two groups. Therefore, Cold-Flu Recovery is determined to be completely safe.

Here we have a table demonstrating the number of adverse events that occurred throughout the course of the Cough Control trial. The table is split into two groups, adverse events that occurred to those in the experimental group (taking Cough Control) and those in the control/Codeine group (not taking Cough Control).

In total, there was 1 adverse event in the Cough Control group and 2 in the control/Codeine group. After sufficient statistical analysis, there is no significant difference between the number of adverse effects between the two groups. Therefore, Cough Control is determined to be completely safe.
